ASA: highly sustainable initiatives

28 April 2025 - Corporate -

From photovoltaic system to green vehicle fleet, from careful waste management to recycling plastic bottles: the Vicenza-based company focuses on concrete actions to promote the spread of an environmentally friendly culture, aimed at also improving the quality of life of its resources.

Not just concrete actions for limiting the impact on the environment, but also initiatives focused on raising awareness among its staff on the importance of adopting virtuous behaviours for their own well-being and that of the community. With these goals, ASA - a Vicenza-based company specialised in the production of laser and magneto systems for physiotherapy and rehabilitation in the human and veterinary fields, ed. - promotes a culture of sustainability that, in addition to protecting the surrounding environment, is extended to people and corporate governance. The sole objective: to generate a virtuous circle that allows the company to grow responsibly.

“For ASA, being sustainable - explains Giulia Sossella, HR Manager ASA - does not only mean adopting a behaviour aimed at caring for the surrounding habitat but also encouraging our internal resources to consider new ways of living their everyday life.
Thanks to a series of concrete choices, the company wants to be an example of an ecological approach that is both possible and easily implementable”.

A feasibility that is expressed through, for example, providing water dispensers for employees and customers where they can refill their personal water bottles or reuse the bottles in use. The possibility offered to all company personnel to use a charging point for electric cars goes in the same direction. This type of vehicle was also chosen to renew the company car fleet.

“Our goal - continues Sossella - over the course of 3 years is to replace half of the vehicle fleet in this direction, including by giving the possibility of charging up even outside the company perimeter, through the assignment of special cards”.

The company's propensity for sustainability can also be seen in various structural choices, including the installation of a photovoltaic system consisting of 108 300Wp monocrystalline panels, which allows an electrical production of 32.4 kWp. In order to improve its performance in terms of productivity, on an annual basis ASA also provides for a specific cleaning of the panels and for a thermographic check to ascertain the presence of any energy dispersion.
Finally, still in the direction of environmental respect, waste management is also in place, by adding a container specifically dedicated to the collection of paper to the existing one intended for packaging.  Plastic material deserves a separate chapter, where the separation between the film used for packaging and hard plastic has been provided for. In order to try to take advantage of zero-mile services, the company is also committed to constantly adopting the door-to-door collection by the local authority. The industrial area will instead be intended only for materials that require appropriate recycling in special containers that have already been purchased.

“By defining the waste management area, these interventions have already allowed us to improve the surface of the company yard, which we have allocated to green initiatives. In fact, in conjunction with Earth Day, on 22 April we planted seeds of small plants, which our employees will take care of, and we also officially opened a company outdoor area dedicated to relaxation. This space, punctuated by tables and chairs and surrounded by flower boxes, is available to our employees who can have lunch or spend some comfortable moments during their daily breaks there. A small gesture from which we are sure other valuable initiatives will “blossom”, concludes Sossella.
