A recent study - “Efficacy of high-intensity laser therapy on arthropathy of the hands in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus: a double-blinded, randomized controlled trial” – conducted on a sample of 50 patients affected by systemic lupus erythematosus with arthropathy to the hands confirms the efficacy of treatment with Hilterapia®.

Divided into two equally numbered groups, the patients (women between 30 and 50) respectively underwent Hilterapia® therapy combined with routine therapy (heat therapy, stretching and reinforcing exercises) and placebo laser with a similar routine program. After three sessions every 7 days for a total of 8 weeks, statistically significant differences were seen in grip strength, swelling, joint pain and VAS in favour of the group treated with Hilterapia®.

In conclusion, the addition of Hilterapia® to the routine therapeutic program can lead to a more effective improvement of the assessed parameters for patients with arthropathy to the hands compared with the routine therapeutic program on its own.
