The first is a study on the behaviour of reflective materials hit by laser emission. The second presents a new classification of laser treatments based on the different tissue reactions obtained simultaneously. The third is an investigation on the response of muscle and peripheral nerves to laser therapy. The fourth presents a comparison between Hilterapia®, LLLT and ultrasound in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
Medical laser: behaviour on reflective materials
Laser therapy: new classification of laser treatments
Muscular and peripheral nerve: review on laser therapy response
Osteoarthritis of the knee: clinical experience with Hilterapia®
The 3rd issue of "Energy for health" is a special issue dedicated to the International Conference on Hilterapia®, held in Venice on 29 November 2009.
The papers presented at the Conference describe the results of clinical studies on the application of Hilterapia® in the treatment of muscle injuries of athletes, of knee osteoarthritis, low back pain, post-surgical pain in carpal tunnel syndrome and of disorders of the proprioceptive balance system. There is also an article that reports the results of the research conducted by ASAcampus on molecular and cellular mechanisms. Finally, there are abstracts of studies which will be completed over the coming months.
Disorders of proprioceptive balance: a comparison between physical therapy and Hilterapia®
Chronic back pain: back school versus Hilterapia®
Arthritis of the knee: clinical test with Hilterapia® and viscosupplementation
Carpal tunnel: effectiveness of Hilterapia® in post-surgical pain
Muscle injuries in athletes: a comparison between traditional therapy and Hilterapia®
Hilterapia®: a study on molecular and cellular mechanisms
Abstracts related to applications in chronic ankle pain, knee osteoarthritis and lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).
The first is a clinical study on the therapeutic effects of exercise combined with treatment with pulsed electromagnetic fields in incontinence management.
The second study concerns the effect of laser therapy in the prevention of muscular atrophy due to immobilisation.
This is followed by a review on the effectiveness of low-power laser therapy.
The fourth article deals with the effects of CO2 emission intensity modulation laser on the temperature of a thermal sensor, used as a biological tissue model.
Finally, there is an interesting work on the development of a diagnostic technique based on autofluorescence.
Magnetotherapy: incontinence treatment
Muscular atrophy: preventive effects of laser therapy
Laser therapy: review on the effectiveness of low power emissions
CO2 Laser: effects of the emission’s intensity modulation
Autofluorescence: development of a diagnostic technique
In this issue the topics covered concern the application of Hilterapia® for treating tendinitis, chronic low back pain and knee arthritis; an extensive study dedicated to MLS® Therapy in acute shoulder pain, in ankle and knee sprains, as well as an interesting article on laser safety in biomedical applications.
Laser safety: applications in the biomedical field
Rotator cuffs: acute pain treatment with MLS® Laser Therapy
Patellar tendinitis: treatment with Hilterapia®
Chronic low back pain: a comparison between back school and Hilterapia®
Sprains: clinical results with MLS® Laser Therapy
Knee arthritis: clinical results with Hilterapia®
